The Most Elegant Book in My Garden Library
Reading and collecting garden books has become a hobby of mine, and this is by far the best of my collection. The landscapes in this book have been refined over centuries, by both man and nature. I look at this book repeatedly, for enjoyment and for ideas in sketching landscape designs

CALGON TAKE ME AWAY!
Open this book and you'll enter a world of sun-kissed villas, exotic foliage, colorful orchards, shadowed walkways, and incredible views overlooking the water. The photography simply took my breath away! I must have looked through the book a half a dozen times before I even began to read the text. If you're planning to visit the area let this serve as an inspiration from the usual tourist traps. I've been to Naples several times but this visually stunning tome made me realize just how much I've missed. Can't wait to go back and explore those gorgeous gardens! This book is definitely a keeper!

Gates of freedom
Published in Unknown Binding by Companion Press ()
Author: Elizabeth Hairston

Excellent Reference Book!
This book is excellent for anyone in ministry, from lay member to Apostle or Pastor. Anyone who is a musician/minstrel in the Kingdom of God should have one. It is also a great text for teachers of praise & worship. This book should be read by anyone who wants an understanding of praise & worship in the church. It's for those who love it too!!

It is a dynamic, anointed book!
This book has changed my whole perspective of praise and worship. Even the historical view of the tabernacle in connection with the new testament today, has really taught me alot. After reading this book, my praise and worship has never been the same. Sometimes I wish I had the knowledge that I have gained from this book, a long time ago; just maybe I would have been at a higher level than I am right now in praise and worship. This book is truely an eye opener to the gates of freedom and the power that comes through praising God and worshipping God. While reading this book, I could have literally sensed the presence of God and the anointing, taking me into a new level of praise and worship. I won't tell you everything about the book, but one thing I could say is that it is necessary for anyone to read it. I am telling you, the level of your praise and worship would go higher and you would never be the same again. Get your book "gates of freedom" NOW !

Georgia O'Keeffe: The Poetry of Things

Author: Elizabeth Hutton Turner

wonderful gift
I sent this book as a gift, based on the glowing review on this page. My donee/friend wrote: "What a wonderful surprise and delight the O'Keefe book has brought me today! It is indeed something very special, with elegant color illustrations, plus many photos from various times of her life, and biographical details all through the text. There is a wonderful photo of her (by Ansel Adams) -- she wears a dark sweater, and is sitting, sketching, at the rocky entrance to what may be a cave --- and all of her design ideas seem to be there in the photo: her own interesting form, contrasts of dark and light, austerity yet beautiful rhythms....I had no idea what a pathfinder she was, going her own road by interpreting objects in an entirely personal way. Everything has her magic touch. The color plates are excellent." I have her permission to send these comments to you.

Outstanding book from an outstanding exhibition
This is the companion catalog to the O'Keeffe exhibition at the Phillips gallery in Washington, DC, and is a wonderful volume on O'Keeffe whether or not you were fortunate enough to see this exhibition. What impressed me most about the exhibition (and the book) is how intelligently it was put together. It examines O'Keeffe's development as an artist by tracking both her philosphy and her influences, and some rarely shown works were chosen to represent this in the exhibition (and are reproduced in the book). Of all the books on O'Keeffe that I've read, and of all the exhibitions I've seen of her work, this one by far does the best job of explaining both the artist and her work.

Hurray for "sistering"!
Thank you Kathleen and Elizabeth for your enlightening and encouraging book. I loved the strengthing, sistering concept. The way you shared experiences, included great ideas for inspiration as well as extreme silliness, and suggested involving various age groups makes this a great guide for any getaway gang.

A Must for All Ladies
This is an excellent guide for connecting & bonding along with good old fashioned fun. Treat yourself!

Excellent Book
This book has everything I was looking for. The best part was that the information was down to earth, stuff I can actually use in my life. When I had my copy at camp, all the other girls kept grabbing it so they could read it too!

Read this Great Advice Book
I just finished reading this book, and really loved the fact that you can get advice from a mom and a daughter. The book is funny, has lots of stuff to do, and has loads of interesting and very useful information. The authors really understand kids my age.

The Glorafilia, the Impressionist Collection: Over 20 Needlepoint Projects Inspired by Famous Painting
Published in Hardcover by Ebury Press (January, 1993)
Authors: Carole Lazarus and Elizabeth Bradley
Average review score:

My favorite needlepoint book
I love this book! I have about 19 needlepoint books, but this is the one I go back to again and again. For those of you who have only worked with kits and lusted after the VERY EXPENSIVE Elizabeth Bradley kits, this is the way to go. If you are a cross-stitcher, the added plus is that Bradley advocates a cross-stitch because it makes the cushions more durable, it doesn't distort the canvas, and it's what many Victorian needleworkers did.

Elizabeth Bradley patterns are great to take with you on holidays, because you don't need a frame (as long as you use cross-stitch). The colors are beautiful, soft "Antique" English colors. Many of the patterns have a striking black background, and she gives guidance regarding color substitutions (both the sage green and pale blue work well). I've done a number of the patterns, and whenever I'm making a gift I do something from this book.

As the title suggests, the patterns are floral but there is a great deal of variety from striking lilies to Victorian wreaths.

Lovely
Beautiful charted flowers, a very worthy successor to "Decorative Victorian Needlework". Book is organized by the seasons. A sampler for each season and several floral designs for each season. Informative, detailed, a conversion chart for the different brand needlepoint wools, and instructions on the preferred needlepoint stitch for working E. Bradley's designs. Plus, the delightful surprises in E. Bradley's books, in this one you must see the Plum Pudding chart. What a delightful Christmas gift a plum pudding ornament would be.

God's Wisdom for Little Boys: Character-Building Fun from Proverbs
Published in Hardcover by Harvest House Publishers, Inc. (July, 2002)
Authors: Elizabeth George George, Jim George, and Judy Luenebrink
Average review score:

Illustrations are heartwarming
This book is a real find. The illustrations are so boyish yet sweet. The print, at 4 lines and rhyming, will keep their attention. With 3 boys, we can relate to it and will enjoy it for years to come. Geared to younger boys, probably younger than 8. Scripture used is very easy to understand. Covers qualities such as obedience, cheerfulness, being kind, brave and diligent, thankful and responsible, among others.

Very nice!
This is such a nice little book. It is a good book to read when studying character traits with little boys and discussing what kind of boy God wants them to be. The illustrations are beautiful. My children really like this book!

Grandfather's Drum

Met Elizabeth at booksigning
I went to one of Elizabeth Bluehorse's booksignings at the Hastings near my home. What a great person! I bought a copy of Grandfather's Drum for my 16 year old grand daughter, but after reading through a few pages I went back and bought two more copies - one for myself and one for a friend of mine who is interested in Native American stories and culture. Now that we have all read our books, we all say - simply delightful, beautiful. I signed on today to buy another copy for my son who is 37. This is a book for all ages.

Wonderful!
I have become such a fan of Elizabeth Bluehorse' writing that I felt I couldn't wait for another of her volumes to come out. It was worth the wait. This time she has written from the Native American part of her heritage, and it is simply delightful.

Grandmom's Summer Reading Club

Grandmom's Summer Reading Club
It is an idea who's time has come. Grandparents can add so much to the lives of their grandchildren and for that matter, children everywhere.

Bill Duncan, Editor, Senior Times, Roseburg, Oregon

Grandmom's Summer Reading Club
Anyone can give this reading club idea a try and Elizabeth urges that more than grandmothers do so. Maybe granddad wants to make the book link. Maybe an aunt or uncle could invite nieces and nephews. If you mentor a child during the school year, this could be a summer connection. One of Elizabeth's friends opened the book club to her sister's grandchildren who had recently lost their own grandmother. The options are endless.

Great Birthday gift !
This is a wonderfully written book for young readers. And it has enough plot twists and mystery to keep anyone interested. My kids and I can't wait for the next book in the series.

Very COOL Book For Pre-teens
I have read Ghost Hunter's Club - Case 1 : Elizabeth Sullivan! It was a short, but exciting book to read. I have purchased 5 copies for my grandchildren, nieces & nephews and KNOW they will just love it. I predict this book will be a WINNER with all young people 9 years and up!!!

A Wonderful Read
What an amazing book for young readers! The characters are mulit-dimensional and the way the author describes the small town of Rosewood, Indiana is phenomenal. You really get intertwined with the three main girls, Anna, Lyn & Molly, as well as becoming an honorary member of the club to help solve ths mystery. This is a great story and surely will become a classic!!
